Venice Itinerary  No.1

This tour will lead you through narrow alleyways, meandering canals, and the peaceful squares of Santa Croce and San Polo. Venice is dense in history and picturesque sites, as we’ll see during our visit to the bustling Rialto Bridge market area, the real heart of Venice and the former international business center. We’ll cross the Grand Canal to the monumental Piazza San Marco (St. Mark's Square), the political core of the glorious Venetian Republic. Along the way, we’ll include an explanation of all major sites of interest (Ducal Palace, Bridge of Sighs, Bell Tower, Marciana Library, etc.) and, whenever possible, if there are no religious services and "acqua alta" (high water) taking place, a visit to the Basilica. Venice Itinerary  No.2

A visit to the Dorsoduro area, including beautiful urban spaces like Campo Santa Margherita and San Barnaba, is a lovely introduction to the city. Far from the major "hit-and-run" tourist routes, these neighborhoods are lively and trendy thanks to the two nearby universities with their several thousand students, and also the presence of several art museums. Once past the Grand Canal at the wooden Accademia bridge (with spectacular views of famous places and the Salute Church), we'll head into the elegant Sestiere di San Marco, with its open-air cafes, art galleries, and antique dealers, and glamorous boutiques. After a short stop at “La Fenice,” the world-famous opera house reconstructed after the 1996 fire, we’ll reach the unmissable, unforgettable St. Mark's Square. See tour highlights below:

• Visit the highlights of Boka Bay - Kotor Old Town and Perast with Our Lady of the Rocks Island - on this shore excursion from Kotor. Explore Kotor, visit Our Lady of the Rocks via boat, and enjoy free time in Perast. Entrance fees included.

• Starting point is Kotor from where you are heading to small man-made island near Perast, Our Lady of the Rocks: first you arrive in town of Perast, from where you’ll take a boat ride to the famous island in Montenegro - Our Lady of the Rocks. According to legend, the islet was made over the centuries by local seamen who kept an ancient oath after finding the icon of Madonna and the Child on the rock in the sea on July 22, 1452. Upon returning from each successful voyage, they laid a rock in the Bay. Over time, the islet gradually emerged from the sea.

• After quick visit to Our Lady of the Rocks you are heading again to Perast where you can have some free time to enjoy in charming atmosphere of the quietest town in all Boka. 

• Then you will proceed back to Kotor, where will you get opportunity to discover tremendously rich history of town through walking tour with our professional guide. Every single piece of this town is hiding story on its own.

STARTING TIME: suggested 90 minutes after ship arrival. Reaching the meeting point may take considerable time do to possible long lines at the cable car in Fira. We suggest heading out for the meeting point as soon as possible. 

MEETING POINT: you will be picked up at the top exit of the cable car in Fira. Your guide will meet you holding a sign with your name. 

NOTE: To reach the meeting point you will have to take the cable car to Fira. The lines for the cable car may be very long so please allocate ample time to reach your meeting point.

Tour Description

Itinerary (may be reversed or rearranged by driver as needed):

• The tour begins with a scenic journey to Oia, admiring the panoramic view of the Aegean Sea and neighboring islands along the way. The village of Oia is situated on top of a hill which offers a breathtaking view over the volcanic caldera of Santorini. This beautiful village with its narrow streets, traditional whitewashed houses, and blue domed churches provides a picture-postcard vision of the Greek Island.

• Enjoy the stunning views in the village of Imerovigli, situated on a higher cliff. In front of the village is an enormous rock called Skaros, which used to be the best spot to look out for pirates.

• On the way, we will make a short stop in Firostefani to see the famous Blue Dome Church, the subject of so many Santorini postcards.

• Make your way to the peak of Prophet Ilias, Santorini’s highest mountain that stands some 2000 feet above the sea. Be amazed by the island vistas around you and follow your guide inside the ornate Greek Christian monastery perched at the mountain’s summit.

• Visit the village of Pyrgos, the old capital of the island, take a guided walk along the narrow paths to the ruins of the Venetian castle.

• Taste rare wine varieties in the traditional winery of Venetsanos family. Viniculture is an ancient art in Santorini, thanks to the volcanic soil. Learn the secrets of winemaking and enjoy the tastes of the famous local wines. Optional wine tasting includes 5 different wines with snack (€18 per person)

• Make your way to the Black Beach of Perivolos, located on the southern coast of the Island. Enjoy an optional lunch there; our professional guide will be on hand to recommend the best restaurants to dine.

  • IMPORTANT NOTE: large size coaches can not drive to Srdj mountain. For such a reason, we would make one stop at the view point on the way to Cavtat and the second one before getting back to the port at the Dubrovnik bridge.
