Who we are

Edinburgh & Lothians Fungus Enthusiasts (ELFE) is a friendly, supportive and inclusive fungus group, engaging people of all levels of experience who have a common interest in fungi.

We run a variety of events to provide opportunities for education, and social interaction for our members. We promote fungi, their biology and fungi biodiversity.

Our interest in fungi range from the large classic fungi usually associated with normal autumn foray through to the microfungi. We aim to show that fungi can be found throughout the year and in a variety of habitats.

Despite our name, our forays are not restricted to an area. We focus our attention on sites based on factors such as travel time, accessibility by public transport, forays with other groups as well as on specific types of habitats.
