Dryad's Saddle - a majestic species for July.

Post date: Jul 6, 2011 7:50:56 PM

It's July already and a fungal fruiting season is already well under way with many early season species popping up. Our recording focus this month is the Dryad's Saddle (Polyporus squamosus). You'll find lots of information about this large bracket fungus on its species profile page. As usual, it's really important that we help build a picture of this species distribution in Scotland, so keep your eyes peeled on the trunks of deciduous trees such as beech, sycamore and elm and submit your records using the online recording form. One that can even be spoted from the car ... if you're not driving of course!
