Post date: Sep 1, 2010 9:14:43 AM

For September, Scottish Fungi has joined up with North East Scotland Biological Records Centre (NESBReC) to encourage recording of the giant puffball (Calvatia gigantea). This is a species that captures many peoples eye with specimens growing up to 20 kg! Visit the Scottish Fungi species profile page for the giant puffball for more information and, of course, remember to submit your records so that we can gain a better understanding of its Scottish distribution.
