Mitrula paludosa - Bog Beacon

Post date: Jun 6, 2011 8:54:55 PM

As well as being the June 'Fungus of the Month', this delightful little species, Mitrula paludosa, is one of our ‘First and Last’ species, so this is just to remind you to send in your early and late records (currently the earliest record in Scotland is March 10th and the latest is September 14th) via the online form in the ‘First and Last’ section of the Scottish Fungi website. Other species to look out for in this project would be late fruiting Flammulina velutipes (Velvet Shank), Calocybe gambosa (St. George’s Mushroom) and early fruiting Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric), Amanita rubescens (Blusher) and Boletus edulis (Cep).
