這是美籍傅良圃牧師在台大外文.耕莘文教院任職時期.在1950年代花了七年時間停留在台灣時期.所拍攝近40000張照片裡.所挑選出來的200多張攝 影習作選集有時候並非一定要對攝影書籍有諸多的連想或是賦與其新的語言.因為那只不過是一本攝影書籍.但在那個年代.長期使用膠卷在假日閒暇拍攝台灣的一 些人.事物.風景.政經是一件不容易的事情.

傅良圃五O年代所拍的「台灣寫真」照片 捐給舊金山大學 亞太中心的 利馬竇 中西文化歷史研究所 以下是部份的收藏. 傅良圃除了喜歡拍孩童與人物特寫外對台灣的鄉村、勞動、信仰、生活等樣貌都感興趣一個神父的攝影關照點能這麼早就進入民間或許跟他的專業文學、神學背景有關罷.....
Frederick J. Foley was born in the United States and did his undergraduate studies at Fordham University in New York and at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington. In 1936 he entered the Jesuit order and in 1946 was sent to China, first to the Language School in Beijing, then to Shanghai, where he studied theology and was ordained a priest.
In 1951 he moved to Taiwan, where he stayed until 1960, when he returned to the United States to study at Harvard University. After leaving the Society of Jesus, he continued his activities as photographer and documentarist. He now lives in Massachusets.
