Ehrman, Bart D., 1955-

Justice for the poor : a study of criminal defense work / Debra S. Emmelman. 2003.
http://www.asanet.org/footnotes/septoct12/obit_0912.html
Debra Emmelman received her Ph.D. from the University of California at San Diego in 1990. She is currently a professor at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. Her areas of specialization include Sociology of Law and Criminal Justice. She has published several articles (including Trial by Plea Bargain in Law and Society Review and Gauging the Strength of Evidence in Law and Social Inquiry) as well as a book (Justice for the Poor, published by Ashgate Press) on the criminal defense of the poor. Although most of her prior research has focused on defense of the poor in criminal courts, she is currently examining the manners in which a relatively new environmental problem (i.e., the disposal of waste, oil and grease) is perceived and managed by environmental agencies across the U.S.

Memorializes Stanford C. Ericksen, professor emeritus of psychology and founding director of the Center for Research on Learning and Teaching (CRLT) of the University of Michigan. Ericksen maintained a productive research career on learning, thinking, and training methods, and was active in regional and national psychology organizations. He chaired the Philosophy/Psychology Department at Vanderbilt University before serving as director of the CRLT at Michigan, the first such center in the US. Ericksen firmly believed that improvements in teaching must be grounded on research.
