Tips

• • Make an outline using the standard essay organization when appropriate

  • Use Grammarly

    • Sign up with your edu email address at https://www.grammarly.com/edu/ to (possibly) access additional features.

  • Go to the Writing Center

    • They are nice, and helpful

  • Use knowledge and skills from Comp I and/or Comp II if you have already taken them.

  • Read your writing out loud when you have completed it but before submitting it to check for errors.

  • Cite!

  • Consider your audience

    • Be careful about use of jargon - special words or expressions that are used by a particular profession or group and are difficult for others to understand.
