Ratios

Ratios can help us "scale up" or "scale down" stuff

Examples:

When you make juice, use 1 can of frozen juice concentrate and 3 cans of water!

the ratio of juice to water is 1:3

the ratio of water to juice is 3:1

Let's say you have 4 cans of juice concentrate and want to make it as one big jug...how much water do you add?

if the ratio of water to juice is 3:1 we want an equivalent amount so it tastes the same...but use 4 cans of juice...

3:1 is the same as x : 4
