a.        Entering the room

                                                                                             i.         Please try to be on time.

                                                                                          ii.         Enter through the back door

                                                                                       iii.         Get seated and have supplies ready for the bell

                                                                                       iv.         Attendance, be respectfully quiet, say here

b.        Showing up late

                                                                                             i.         Come into the room quietly

                                                                                          ii.         Wait at the door until asked by me to sit down

                                                                                       iii.         Come in quietly and get ready quietly…without speaking/disrupting

c.        During instruction

                                                                                             i.         Expectations are working hard, on topic, and without disruption to the learning environment.

                                                                                          ii.         I can’t force you to work, but I can ask you to let others work, learn, teach.

                                                                                       iii.         Any disruption to the learning environment and you may be asked to:

1.        Be quiet

2.        Change seats

3.        Leave the room

4.        Come back at tutorial/lunch/after school

5.        See an administrator

                                                                                       iv.         Continued disruptions, or lack of effort:

1.        Chat with the teacher (on your time)

2.        Tutorials, lunch, after school

3.        Call/email home

4.        See an administrator

d.        Work blocks

                                                                                             i.         Quiet or small group

                                                                                          ii.         Independent, partner, small group

                                                                                       iii.         Tutorials (peer, teacher)

                                                                                       iv.         My course work, then other subjects

                                                                                          v.         Be polite, and respect the room/supplies/furniture

e.        Washrooms

                                                                                             i.         Not during instruction

                                                                                          ii.         1 at a time, be quick, as the next kid can’t go until you get back!

                                                                                       iii.         No phones, no bags, no loitering

                                                                                       iv.         Straight there, straight back

f.           Leaving the room

                                                                                             i.         At the end of the class, please exit by the back door

                                                                                          ii.         Take all your stuff (clothing, paper, handouts, food, garbage…)

                                                                                       iii.         Clean up around your spot, even if it’s not your mess

                                                                                       iv.         Be patient and polite to others/me

g.         Tutorials

                                                                                             i.         I will always make time before school, lunch, after school if you want/need help

                                                                                          ii.         If you work hard and show that you want to do well, I’ll help you pass!

                                                                                       iii.         Voluntary and teacher-directed

                                                                                       iv.         All you have to do is ask!

h.        Using the room at lunch/before/after school

                                                                                             i.         This can be your place to come and hang out!

                                                                                          ii.         Speak and act respectfully (language/subject appropriate for my old-man ears/eyes)

                                                                                       iii.         Technology to a minimum

                                                                                       iv.         Treat the things here (desks, chairs, floor, supplies, etc…) as if you’re a guest.

1.        If you make a mess…clean it up.

2.        If you packed it in, pack it out.

3.        If you want to use/borrow…ask first

4.        If you break or damage something, let me know (respect)
