Monday, February 23: Domain, Range, and what makes a function.
Homework: finish the page we started in class (labelled notes), and the one directly after that (labelled worksheet #1)
Tuesday, February 24: What do we already know of quadratics?
Goal: See that there are three different ways for us to write a quadratic
Wednesday, February 25: Focus on Vertex Form: why it's awesome.
Goal: Graph any quadratic in vertex form, regardless of a value.
Go from vertex form --> standard form (FOIL correctly)
Thursday, February 26: Focus on Factored Form: seeing when things come back to earth.
Goal: Graph any quadratic in factored form, regardless of a value.
Go from factored form --> standard form (FOIL correctly)
Which graphs cannot be created in Factored form.
Friday, February 27: Quiz:
graph from vertex form
graph from factored form
write equation of a graph in either form
answer basic abstract questions about all three forms
find domain and range of graphs
use function notation appropriately
create factored form from either vertex or standard form. All a values are game.
