1) in class we discussed the odds for when we roll one die, and when we add up the dots on two dice. Figure out the odds for the sum of:
* 9 when rolling 2 dice
* 10 when rolling three dice
2) I flip a coin five times. What are the chances of me:
* flipping, in order: H, T, H, T, H
* flipping three heads and two tails in any order
* flipping five heads
3) imagine the heights of males 18-24 is a normal curve. It has a mean of 60" and a standard deviation of 2.1".
* 68% of the population would be between what two heights?
* 95% of the population is between what to heights?
* 99.7% of the population is between what two heights?
4) Sample 10 random people on campus and ask them how many credit hours they are currently taking.
a) How did you get your random 10 people?
b) are there any possible problems with your sampling method?
c) find the mean, median, and mode of the number of credit hours that people are taking.
d) using some method (online, our calculator, excel, whatever) find the standard deviation for your data.

e) using your standard deviation, find the 68-95-99.7 thresholds. Do you think these are accurate? (i.e. from your experience, does it seem like 68% of people have an amount of credit hours inside of the numbers you get?)
