Son of Henry & Elizabeth Sanders,
of Oak Cottage, Norton, Oystermouth.
Enlisted 24th March 1916.
Eight cousins were in the forces. A. Sanders returned profoundly
deaf and taught at Church School Dunns.

H.M. Trawler 'LONGSET' sank on a mine off Nell’s Point, Barry Island, south Wales, with eight dead and seven survivors.
The mine had been laid by the German mine-laying submarine UC 46, which in turn was sunk with all hands on February 8, 1917 while home bound off Calais.
