'For your tomorrow

we gave our today'

In Memory of all those from the community who have died in conflict

Although it is outside of the Mumbles & Oystermouth Parish, we are recording research from Bishopston Parish.

As early in our research, it was discovered that

Oystermouth Council School Roll of Honour

(published in The South Wales Daily Post, 3 March 1916)

included Lance Corpl. Stanley JONES

who was not listed on All Saints' Church Great War Memorial, but attended school in Oystermouth. It was soon revealed that he was named on the memorial at Murton Methodist Church.

Despite the record inscribed on the Memorial Plaque, research has confirmed that Stanley & Thomas JONES were not killed on the same day, as widely reported]
