The Great War memorial was unveiled on Sunday, 1st August 1920 was constructed in All Saints’ Church and is situated on the Rood Screen, at a total cost of £1,273.3s.11d.

The names were inscribed onto the front panels, which are headed,

IN MEMORY OF 98 BRAVE MEN FROM THIS PARISH WHO DIED IN THE GREAT WAR.

The Mumbles Press reported,

‘A notable feature was that the names of every fallen villager appear on the memorial it being the wish of Rev. Canon Harold Williams and the members of the church, that denominations should not be considered '.

Two new Plaques on Rood Screen Memorial

Ninety eight names of the Mumbles fallen, were inscribed onto the front panels at the base of the Rood Screen Great War Memorial and, together with the fifteen additional names, which were unveiled on two plaques to the rear of the original Rood Screen in 2017, commemorate one hundred and thirteen fallen villagers.
