Week 19
Day One:
1. Shakespeare was born on April 23 1564 in a small town called Stratford-on-Avon.
2. Shakespeare is very famous today. He was not so well known in his day.
Day Two
1. Scholars think that Shakespeares father was a businessman who also served in the local government.
2. We know hardly nothing about Shakespeare's life.
Day Three
1. Shakespeare was probably educated at the Stratford Grammar School. He was taught latin and greek.
2. Although we don't know much about Shakespeare's life we do know he was married and had three children.
Day Four
1. In 1594 Shakespeare was part owner of one of the most successful theater companys in London.
2. By that time however Shakespeare already had a reputation as an actor and a play-wright.
Day Five
1. Shakespeare worked real hard and built the globe theater.
2. He wrote 37 plays 154 sonnets and several long poems.
Week 20
Day One
2 haiku in this book might be difficult to understand.
This here haiku is my favorite one.
Day Two
I like these three haiku because them can be understood in different ways.
In my research paper, I will quote a haiku that begins deep in a windless wood.
Day Three
I wanted to express my personal feelings. I wrote a haiku.
The teacher read the haiku. She read the poem at a slow pace.
Day Four
The three haiku translated by Daniel Buchanan and the haiku by Buson was the easiest to understand.
The poems about plum blossoms, spring, and temple bells.
Day Five
They be the most best haiku I ever read.
Either the haiku by Basho or the one by Kyorai are on the test.
Week 21
Day One:
Fog is the name of a poem by Carl Sandburg.
Sandburg was a newspaper reporter when he writed the poem.
Day Two:
"Fog” is a very short poem it has only 6 lines.
The first line of the poem is “the fog comes in on little cat feet.”
Day Three:
Sandburg uses figurative language to make his point. Figurative language is the use of words that are not meant to be taken literally.
Sandburg make a comparison between fog and a cat.
Day Four:
The fog is over the harbor.
Makes the poem vivider.
Day Five:
The fog drifts in, looks over the harbor, and then is moving on.
