Author Study Poster
Grade 7
Due June 1
Your task is to create a poster representing the author you have chosen and the books you have read. You may create this on a 12” x 18” piece of drawing paper (supplied by Ms. D) using a variety of mediums. OR You may create a presentation using Power Point, Prezi or Google.slides. Use your imagination and creativity to design your display. You will be presenting these to the class.
Your design must include:
➾ Author’s name
➾ Three pieces of information about the author, not including books written
➾ A graphic for each of the five books you read showing the titles
➾ A paragraph telling why you chose this author
➾ Two - three paragraphs that discuss or describe similarities and/or differences among
all the books for one of the following:
theme
main character
genre
setting
elements of plot
Here are some things to think about as you prepare your poster. You do not need to answer all these questions but thinking about the answers will help you do a good job with the requirements listed above.
Did you connect with this author or the characters in any way?
Did any of these books make a strong impression on you?
How did the author go about developing the characters and plot?
Would you read more books by this author? Why or why not?
Would you recommend this author to your friends, other students, younger or older audiences? Why or why not?
Did anything surprise you as you read these books or investigated the author?
Points will be awarded as follows:
5 points for each ➾ element listed above. (25 points)
5 points for creativity, neatness, and overall effect (This includes spelling and grammar.)
10 points for completing the 5 books.
