For this unit we will be exploring poetry written by published poets.
We will read and discuss two poems as a class.
You will read at least 8 poems from a variety of poets using the books provided in class. Do not read more than one poem from any book. Due 4/14
Select 3 poems to discuss with a poetry partner*. You will have the same poetry partner for the entire unit. The majority of poems you select to read should be different than your partner.
We will use the same format for discussion that we used earlier this year. Ms. D will copy your poems for these discussions.
Once the discussions have been completed you and your partner will choose one poem to use to create a Movie Maker presentation for the class. Due 5/13 Example Presentations
*Your poetry partner will be selected in cooperation with Ms. D.
As you read your poems, record them on the form below. If you read more than eight poems, add more rows to the table. When you find a poem you want to discuss, mark the page with a stickie. Put your name on the stickie. Put a * in the last box if this is a poem you will discuss with your partner. Remember, you need to discuss at least three poems with your partner. When the unit is completed this chart and the record of your discussions will become part of your portfolio.
