Here are two examples of introductions to reports as well as the conclusions of the same reports. These are presented here to help you get an idea of how to wrote these important parts of your report. An effective conclusion does not stand on its own but is based on the information presented in the paper.
Report on Global Warming
Introduction:
"Climate change is likely to have wide ranging and mostly adverse impacts on human health, with significant loss of life." (Moore) Global warming affects the ocean because as ice melts the ocean gets larger, when the ocean is larger here are causes and effects that are bad. These effects are mostly bad for humans. Global warming is the warming of the Earth's atmosphere causing the climate to get warmer. Some people might think that this is a good thing, but it is bad news for humans.
Conclusion:
The key points of this report were that when ice in the ocean melts the ocean becomes larger. Global Warming causes things to happen and the effects are not good. Global Warming is bad for humans as has been stated in this report. Global Warming is something that , at its worst, could be a catastrophe to humans and any other life form on Earth. Some spoecies will become extinct and the air will be hard to breathe. If nothing is done about this then the well-being of human life is doomed.
Report on Coral Reefs
Introduction:
Did you know that over 1/3 of all fish species are foung in one place? (Lambert) That place is the coral reef. Why is this important? The study of coral reefs is important because they provide food for much ocean life. They provide habitat for much ocean life. They also protect coastal land. Coral Reefs are home to over 4,000 species of fish. (About Coral Reefs)
Conclusion:
But look. If the coral is gone the beaches may be washed away. It has already been said that coral provides natural portection for beaches and harbors. so when all of this happens id does end up affecting people. The beaches get washed away or heavily damaged. And its no wonder that there are so many organizations protecting coral. It rally is a big part of our lives, considering our oceans and shorelines would be a mess without them. So coral reefs do protect ocean life with food and habitat. They also protect out shorelines with their underwater wave-breaker.
