Emotional Investment

A character can emotionally invest up to their Core Dice in some person or cause. This allows that character to add those dice to any task involving furthering that cause or directly aiding that person. A character could effectively double their Dice in this way. However, should that cause fail, or that person suffer serious harm, the character will suffer Emotional Damage equal to the investment.

If the cause fails completely and permanently or the person is killed, the character suffers double the dice in emotional damage.

Any substantial victory or achievement towards that cause earns that Character a Plot Point.

You really can die from a broken heart.

Emotional investment in life-or-death situations such as combat is assumed, and cannot be taken for extra dice.

Regular Cast Members cannot emotionally invest in Producer Challenges.

An emotional investment can be undertaken at any point during play.
