Explosives

Explosives are rated by dice damage done at the center of the blast. The explosion loses one dice of damage for every 6 + (damage dice) in feet from the epicenter.

EXAMPLE: a 4 dice grenade (the default) does 4 dice of damage at the center of the blast, and –1 dice for every 10’ away. Thus, someone standing more than 40’ away would take no damage.

Treat shrapnel and concussion grenades as Firearms damage. Energy grenades (Fuel-air, thermal, cryothermic, etc) do energy damage.

Here are some default values for various explosives:

  • Fireworks: 1 dice max
  • Dynamite ½ stick: 1 dice
  • Dynamite full stick: 2 dice
  • Plastic Explosive per 1/2# block: 2 dice
  • Small grenade (40mm – rifle launched): 3 dice
  • Cannon ball hitting soft surface (dirt): 2 dice
  • Cannon ball hitting hard surface (wood or harder): 3 dice
  • Regular fragmentation grenade: 4 dice
  • Rocket Propelled Grenade: 4 dice
  • Mortar shell: 5 dice
  • Bazooka or Anti-tank weapon: 6 dice
  • Air-surface bombs: 6+ dice

The above list is for basic reference only. There are endless variations in type and power of explosive devices.

The max damage for an explosive device that can target an individual is 9 dice.
