Before anyone leaves you need to do two things: 1) establish the time and place for the next Episode (both in game and real life) and account for all the Fate and expendables.
Next Time...
Announce the setting of the next episode (time, place, a little plot teaser, if known. If the players have some idea of what's coming, the might do some research and be better able to contribute story elements. Don't laugh - this could happen.
Also, establish the real-world time/space coordinates for the next game session - however you arrive at those decisions.
Awarding Fate
The XP then announces who earned how much Fate during the Episode. Fate for good role-playing can be payable in game, but Fate for Challenges is rewarded at the end of the episode. Simply making it through an entire episode recognizably intact is worth a minimum of one Fate, regardless of the level of participation in getting there.
If a RCM doesn’t make it this far – due to death, early activation of the Artifact for whatever reason, or just deciding that they like this time period, and dropping out of the cast, they do not qualify for the one minimum Fate point (though they could receive others if the XP so decrees).
If the Cast failed to meet the Challenge, then obviously there is no Fate to be awarded. If the cast didn't even try then the Producers have the option of deactivating the Artifacts, leaving the cast stranded in their current setting, without any of the Artifact's advantages, until they mend their ways, or more suitable contestants emerge.
