The characters will be accompanied by a mascot. It will appear in every episode. It typically manifests as some talking animal or toy. The mascot is intended to be cute and amusing. It is, in effect, annoying and useless. The mascot may be controlled by the XP, or any player under 12.
The mascot cannot be realistically injured or destroyed. It will always manage to avoid such harm. The mascot possesses no worthwhile skills or abilities (other than the ability to move around and talk). It should not require a formal character sheet.
The mascot will accompany the party as if it were a full member of the party. It may or may not follow orders. If the party members separate, the mascot will follow the most powerful party member.
The mascot means well. It tries to help. It will not betray or cause harm to the party on purpose, but it can certainly do so by accident.
The Mascot is, itself, an Artifact of Chaos and can transport at any time.
On occasion, the Mascot may serve as the Voice of the Producers, frequently delivering the Challenge, or an unsubtle warning to stay on the map, though this is not at all required.
