The Plot Point is the currency of Go Action Fun Time - the closest we come to keeping score. It is so vital to the game that it gets its’ own section. Plots Points can be used to influence events or develop cast members or other characters.
The shorthand for Plot Points in this work is Plops. Calling them plots would confuse things with that actual noun which comes up quite a lot in its more normal context. Abbreviating it by PP would confuse things with Power Points, which is a thing with some powers. So Plops.
Plops can be represented by counters, (coins, beads, washers, whatever seems appropriate or handy). You could even keep track of these in writing if you wanted to be all adult and responsible about it. It is demonstrably more fun, however, to toss a Plop token out into the middle of the table when using it in game play.
Plops have two primary uses: character development, and bribing the XP to get a beneficial result. Conversely, sometime the XP can bribe a player to stay on the map or within the plot structure by issuing Plops.
Plops can be earned by completing challenges, or otherwise accomplishing noteworthy deeds during game-play. They can also be earned by good role play, either tactically or dramatically.
Regular Cast Members begin play with 24 Plot Points, which they can use to either improve their characters beyond their original abilities or save for game play.
A Regular Cast Member can never accumulate more than 24 Plops at any time. Should that happen, the Plops must be spent immediately until it is back down to 24 or fewer.
NOTE: In versions 1.3 and earlier Plot Points were called Fate. They are Plot Points now because we are woke and evolved.
