The Duration of an SFX is how long the effect lasts.
The base increment is 3turns, unless:
· the SFX is magic, then it is 1d6 turns.
· An SFX with an effect of Damage is automatically Instantaneous.
o If an increase is wanted, the increment is +1 round.
· A SFX with a duration of 1 or 2 turns is -1 Plop.
· A non-damaging SFX with a Duration of Instantaneous is -2 Plops.
· The SFX could be maintained by concentration (instead of a set number of turns) at no cost. In this event, the SFX counts as an action for Task Rolls and Exhaustion for every round it endures. The SFX expires immediately upon loss of concentration for whatever reason.
It would be important to know if the SFX is a task or an operation.
