Walk on, on a new pair of shoes.
After a long time, its now time for a decent present for myself. I do not " buy stuff " for myself. New shoes, genuine leather, size 48 or 13/14 - Medium wide - model; army, real. Definitely to go for another 15 to 25 years or 25000 miles with proper care and moderately rough use. Now that I've moved, I walk between 2.4 to 3.4 kilometer, or twice these distances, almost every day. Sometimes it goes well. Sometimes I do drink a cup of coffee, at the Level or Pasa in Tilburg. Cycling i do not do anymore. I got sick of it, so much pain due bad roads in different places in my spine. Especially when there are many deep pits in the road, i can be sick for weeks. Walking is good for all muscles, only the lower vertebrae and discs still get the hits. Besides these shoes, I have a neater pair with softer soles. I've always had decent looking shoes in my life and hiking boots. Since my day's in the army medical unit, 25 years back, army boots. On these shoes I have worked for years. The last 10 years, not any more. My last 4 pairs were always Model Industry, usually worn out in 2 years due increased intensive use.
Now I just calculate it through. Does this also apply to people ?. Lives are destroyed by labor-related wear, fall out halfway their lives and costs a lot of money for medical expenses insurance ( heavy spine patient = $ 400.000 per patient, per lifetime, medically speaking ) Then, at home, it's our problem ?. While patients mostly live on social benefits with little money, they can just buy some food after deducting rent. No, not enough, or the good, healthy and / or bio organic food. So the patient gets sicker. Now the patient needs more medications. Worse case scenario ; medical bills pilling up cause they are not covered by health insurance. The same company, is owned by financial groups. These own your house, the bank and maybe some production facilities of your self paid medications. Wait, what was the question.. Right, do we need to buy expensive stuff, cause then we will be saved. No, no. That is what they want.
Buy only durable stuff, food, and buy nothing, you do not need.
The army surplus store is very small, still everything is there. If you take something off, behind hangs a lot more, much more. Or, suddenly the owner stands there. I sat down and tried them. I'm not a fan of leather, but what a trusted and familiar feeling. It was like an old friend was back. I digress, am drifting, no, i am on the loose. What does this story has to do with cannabis and wear of my joints. Well, the maths. These shoes are expensive. For this money you can buy two pairs of the other industry boot. But they will only last 2 / 3 years before the paint falls off.
