Europe, the Netherlands. The circles is where i lived, the green dots are places in nature, like farm-land or the woods, were i planted 1 or a few in the '90. Mostly one, in one place. Plants deep in the woods became the best, due the acidic forest soils caused by some coniferous trees.Every year i had some plants in the garden. My first cuttings under lights, my confiscated purple's in 1993, my 2,5 kg from one plant harvest, and my first bonsai in 1995. Earth, 3 months grow, 20 cm and 25 tot 35 gram. Had some originale Thai plants. Experimented with normal use of light. You grow your plant indoors in early January. Dig in the garden as soon as it is warm enough. A month to grow. Cover with dark foil, be sure to do it 100 %. From 17:00 until dark, to be sure for 2 weeks, although some can react after 2 day's. Beginning or end of May. Flowering is during May, June, July. In the netherlands we have to think of fogs and mist in august / september causing mildew. Getting sick in 1998 to 2003 made me realize shops are used by more patients. Patients are also used by cannabis branche. They do take a place in medical aswell pharmaceutical world. Every medicine's origin is plants. When patients use cannabis instead of pharmaceuticals, they will get comments from public aswell medical staff, assistents and semi proffesionals. For those, who have ' diagnoses or opinions ' about cannabis forgetting patients are real. Patients suffer from negative images and propaganda or news created by commercial cannabis branche. dealers or users and latley by the mostly financial intended hype around medical cannabis, patents, stocks, o yeah, and patients..

where it al started
Past 30 years i have seen many coffeeshops. see circles. My first canabis was in my youth, on festivals and relatives of the family. Smoked my first joints, chillum, waterpipe and knew all species at 18. We smoked the smuggled marijuana and hashish. Cannabis with wooden twigs from colombia, jamaica, Siberia. Hashish from morocco, north africa, afghanistan, india and the delicious nepal. From 1988, the first year we could order bulbs by mail order. From 1990 when army college's were going to disco's and bars, we visited shops in Hilversum, Utrecht, Nijmegen, Tilburg, Amsterdam, Den haag or Rottterdam. We even visited Harm Dost in 1991. My introduction to Moroccan hashish goes far back, I find it just as normal as potatoes, vegetables or other natural necessities. For that growth lamps were for 1988, we had in Utrecht many coffee shops selling cannabis. We had about 20, 25 'dutch' coffee shops, open and cozy, as the most tourist know. We had also a lot of Turkish and even more Moroccan shops / tea cafes. In these years, for me as teenager from 15 to 22, i have seen about 40,50 different Moroccan and Afgan hasjish. With famous names as, red and yellow Libanon, Polm, Super Polm, Casablanca, King's Maroc, Sputnik, Zero, Zero Zero, Primera, Ketama, Ketama Gold..

Sarasani in Utrecht, now closed. Doesn't look like much ? Wait till your inside, you might not get out. We came here when 15 year old, and left when we were 20. Sort of. There is a bar and some wooden benches but in the back were big piles of pillows. Sitting, hanging on the ground. Begin '90's the rave scene came through the squatter and other new wave sub people who came here the most. It was, like our blow boat the place where everybody came and was welcome. In Utrecht the shop was famous before it was closed, you can read enough about it on the net. I remember it especially due the first imported californian orange bud, about '88, if i say it correct. That was nice.

One of my favourite Zaanse Shop's Moonlight
18 years i've come to this shop, 1 out of 3 in my old residence. Everyday open early from 08:00 a.m. till late like 01:00 p.m. Fresh cannabis, and best hasj in town, called ' puntjes ' which translate into little points ? ;) They always played good music different styles. Atmosphere is imortant here. Here people are really welcomed as ' family '.The workers, boss and family are always friendly, frank, honest and hospitable. The only minus is the vanished graffti from stephan. Bob Marley and exodus. This happened when they changed the interior, that looks as if nothing has been done in 30 years. .. the great reggae music made sure that the job wasn't finished
My not so favourite Shop in Zaanstad Squad. The 2 other shops in Zaandam, Squad and Headlines have been going through changes the past years due governments regulation of smooking in cafe's. Headlines was always a unfriendly place, now you can only buy at a glass window. No change to sit down, have coffee and roll joints there anymore, like Squad. Here you can buy at a glass window, although there is a bar and a garden, i was not allowed in. In december 2011 it costed effort to get in. AS patient with forthseeing winter coming i wanted to buy 100, 200 gram, so when stroke with spine problems i would be safe. Appointments about this it costed me 5 trips on bycicle through snow and bad weather. Ended up with being snubbed with ; ,, you should not whine ". Thanks again Squad, for dis-regarding a real patient.
Long time ago, it started here. The boat. We called the blow boat. The story is the boat came in the '70 from south america to europe, with hundred or thousand kilo's of colombian weed. The trip took 3 months.. Yeah, right ' bad weather '. The building across the water is an old jail complex. Is it not ironic..

The boat is well know in Utrecht City and it's surounding area's due the public and mellow atmosphere. All kind of people came here,
we knew it as hippie-shop. One of the last to put a table football inside. Best memories we have are sitting on the roof in the summer
with fresh leaves maroccan mint in our NaNa Tea. Or below deck in winter, and coffee 'latte' with handmade foam by Bart.
