What is it about?. Traditionally, earlier ( last century ) cannabis plants had 4% THC and low CBD content. Following the developments in late 80s, more and more species were developed for " more THC ". In recent years, it has become clear that many patients, conditions or illnesses may be helped with a wider choice in the menu of THC / CBD. For years they devoloped plants for more cbd than thc. Resin Seeds developed Canna Tonic strains with THC / CBD ratio of 1 to 1. In 2012, we heard reports about Avidekel developed by Tikun Olam in Israel. ( more on this below this article ) Cbd between 15 and 20% THC and between 0.1 and 5%. In 2013 plenty interest came in the strains Charlotte's Web and AC-DC. Ratio THC: CBD is around 22:1 to 24:1. I myself, as a pain patient to worn out joints, including the spine and damaged intervertebral discs, experiencing difference between coffeeshop cannabis with a high percentage of THC and low CBD, and a piece Moroccan hashish, which has relatively more cbd.
June 29 Tilburg, Netherlands. We have waited long time ; AC DC is in the Netherlands. After a trip from Canada to Europe, unfortunately the wait was not over yet for another few weeks. During the making of this article, I heard that Charlotte's Web is now in the Netherlands. Today we have tested the first AC DC bud, you can see yourself that it is a different kind of plant. The odor appears to be " typical ".

My government and insurers do not recognize home-grown weed. The recent court case in which a patient, diagnosed in 1984, still was prosecuted AND acquitted in France, shows that it is the patient who is the bait AND the fish is in the trap, hunted on the run, into the trap. Crazy, because municipalities, counties, public prosecutors as well the justice department actually work for the same employer; a government, and that is us ?. Our life is precisely what changes. Sometimes it takes tens of years or only a few before a condition is worsened. But how much of all the patients are gone within a few months. Or, during the course of the disease, how many have a lot or continual suffering from a lack of energy and thus fighting spirit. Here we touch the core of the problem, insurers rely on this. ( too activist ? ) Patients who already for years, have lost everything in the area of "normal functioning", as well social life or relationships and friendships, patients who have to do 10 x more effort to maintain the same standard of living as for that illness.
I love to, when i am loosing myself or if I'm lost, play AC-DC. The power of this energizing music makes me feel strong, and ensures me to follow my path with full power. That's also really what I expected from this ac dc strain. However, the first cannalytics test showed NO cbd at all, and 10 % of thc. Oops We are waiting for test results from a different sample, which two weeks later were taken from the plant. Again no cbd ?. It had to be substantial more than the THC. Longer present Therefore, I am now so very depressed, even if it is only temporary. Even if this strain would have had the expected results, then what?.
Grow 30 days Flowering 60 days. Of course we wanted to know if the legend is true. If only the dutch law would allow us, to test on thc /cbd.
My friend was the first to taste it in a vaporizer and said it tasted sweet. We'll make a cup of tea first, later i will smoke some.
We first tea made from the leaves last, just before the harvest. No peaks. This ensures that the taste and strength of the plant itself is experiencing, and you expand your knowledge palette. Water boiled with the leaves and put in a pot, and then light a tea infuse for 25 minutes. The color of the tea is evident between purple, gray and brown in. The taste was different than other cannabis plants. Deeper, slightly heavier but especially acute in the throat.

July 3 2012 What a drag, Israeli firm grows "highless" marijuana
(source Reuters) - They grow in a secret location in northern Israel. A tall fence, security cameras and an armed guard protect them from criminals. A hint of their sweet-scented blossom carries in the air: rows and rows of cannabis plants, as far as the eye can see. It is here, at a medical marijuana plantation atop the hills of the Galilee, where researchers say they have developed marijuana that can be used to ease the symptoms of some ailments without getting patients high. "Sometimes the high is not always what they need. Sometimes it is an unwanted side effect. For some of the people it's not even pleasant," said Zack Klein, head of development at Tikun Olam, the company that developed the plant.
Cannabis has more than 60 constituents called cannabinoids. THC is perhaps the best known of those, less so for its medical benefits and more for its psychoactive properties that give people a "high" feeling. But cannabis also contains Cannabidiol, or CBD, a substance that some researchers say has anti-inflammatory benefits. Unlike THC, it hardly binds to the brain's receptors and can therefore work without getting patients stoned. "CBD plants are available in different forms all over the world," said Klein, adding that the company's plant is free of THC and very high in CBD. Tikun Olam began its research on CBD enhanced cannabis in 2009 and about six months ago they came up with Avidekel, Klein said, a cannabis strain that contains 15.8 percent CBD and only traces of THC, less than one percent.
CANNABIS AS MEDICINE
Marijuana is an illegal drug in Israel. Medicinal use of it was first permitted in 1993, according to the health ministry. Today cannabis is used in Israel to treat 9,000 people suffering from illnesses such as cancer, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, Crohn's disease and post traumatic stress disorder, according to Israel's health ministry. Drug companies have also been interested in cannabis as a medicine. Britain's GW Pharmaceuticals, with Bayer and Almirall, sells an under-the-tongue spray called Sativex that is designed to minimize highs by manipulating ratios of active ingredients. Raphael Mechoulam, a professor of medicinal chemistry at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, said Avidekel is thought to be the first CBD-enriched cannabis plant with no THC to have been developed in Israel. "It is possible that (Avidekel's) CBD to THC ratio is the highest among medical marijuana companies in the world, but the industry is not very organized, so one cannot keep exact track of what each company is doing," he explained. Although there have been no clinical trials in humans, Mechoulam, who is a leading researcher of cannabinoids, said that Avidekel showed promise as a potent anti-inflammatory. Ruth Gallily of the Hebrew University who works for the company and has been studying CBD for more than 12 years, said she has found that the substance has impressive anti-inflammatory qualities. She has been testing the effects of Tikun Olam's CBD-enhanced cannabis on mice and expects clinical trials to begin in a few months.
Avidekel is a new strain of a plant that is already permitted for medical use so there is nothing stopping patients who are already being treated with marijuana from trying Avidekel. About 10 patients began using it in the past six months, Klein said. "The cannabis plant, enriched with CBD, can be used for treating diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, colitis, liver inflammation, heart disease and diabetes," she said, adding there are no side effects. "It's a huge advantage," said one 35-year-old patient who asked not to be identified, "I can smoke during the day, function with a lot less pain and still be focused, work and drive. It is a great gift." The woman began suffering chronic pains after a tumor was removed from her spine. She began treatment with regular THC-containing marijuana eight months ago. Two months ago she started smoking Avidekel. "The difference is huge. Before, I would only smoke at the end of the day and stay in pain." Now, she said, with the highless marijuana "my life is so much better." Despite Avidekel's highless benefit, Klein does not see regular marijuana disappearing any time soon. THC has its own unique effects that alleviate illness symptoms. "Don't worry, I think that cannabis with THC will still be (around)," he said.

July 3 2012 - Israeli scientists create medical marijuana strain that won't get patients high
(source CBS News ) Israeli scientists have reportedly created a new strain of marijuana with a catch: You won't get high from smoking it.
Reuters reports that Galilee-based company Tikun Olam has developed a marijuana strain called Avidekel that can be used medicinally to alleviate nausea, pain and other symptoms doctors may prescribe medical marijuana to treat. "Sometimes the high is not always what they need," Zack Klein, head of development at Tikun Olam, told Reuters. "Sometimes it is an unwanted side effect. For some of the people, it's not even pleasant."
Cannabis is made up of 60 chemical components called cannabinoids and the drug's main psychoactive ingredient is tetrahydrocannabinol, known simply as THC. However, the company's new plant is free of THC but high in CBD, or cannabidiol, a substance that's been tied to anti-inflammatory benefits. While THC binds to the brain's receptors to create the high feeling, the scientists say CBD barely binds and thus doesn't cause the effect. Avidekel is already permitted for medicinal use so patients can try it at their own discretion - Reuters reports 10 patients have been using it for six months. "It's a huge advantage," said one 35-year-old patient who suffers chronic pain after a tumor was removed from her spine who asked not to be identified, "I can smoke during the day, function with a lot less pain and still be focused, work and drive. It is a great gift." Marijuana is illegal in Israel but medical use has been permitted since 1993 for illnesses such as cancer, Parkinson's, Crohn's, or post traumatic stress disorder. In the U.S., 17 states and Washington D.C. currently have medical marijuana laws on the books with other states mulling legislation. Approved conditions vary by state but may include HIV/AIDS, glaucoma, multiple sclerosis and seizures.
This plant however is not the first marijuana-like treatment in development. In 1985, the FDA approved two pills containing synthetic THC to ease side-effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients called Marinol and Cesamet, HealthPop reported. Marinol was eventually approved to increase appetites of AIDS patients. Other U.S. companies have been developing formulations that could be administered through dissolving pills, creams and skin patches since patents on the drugs expired. The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration's position states, "smoked marijuana has not withstood the rigors of science - it is not medicine, and it is not safe." © 2012 CBS Interactive Inc. “CHARLOTTES WEB” = ACDC IN CALIFORNIA = OTHER 24:1 CBD RICH STRAINS AROUND THE WORLD
Source ; posted on September 13, 2013 by Allan Frankel, MD
Just a note to any interested. Charlotte’s web is the same 24:1 CBD:THC ratio as many such strains, including Avidekel in Israel. These are NOT developed. They all represent the same genetics and occur randomly in nature. All these strains, to the best of my knowledge, originated from Resin Seeds in Amsterdam and have been called CANNATONIC STRAINS. In my opinion, all of them should be named Cannatonic 1:1, 2:1, 24:1, etc
So, Charlotte is already here in California folks. Check with ProjectCBD.org or patientinformationcenter.com- See more at: http://www.greenbridgemed.com/2013/09/13/charlottes-web-acdc-in-california-other-241-cbd-rich-strains-around-the-world/#sthash.LInG5aXL.dpuf
AC/DC Strain Is High In Cannabidiol (CBD)
The AC/DC Strain Is A Phenotype of Cannatonic
By Drake Dorm December 10, 2013 source ; medical jane
As we know, cannabidiol (CBD) has come to the forefront in recent years, and a number of cultivators have set out to develop CBD-rich strains, like Sour Tsunami and Ghost Rider, and Harlequin. Bred by Resin Seeds, the Cannatonic strain certainly helped pave the way for this trend, becoming one of the first strains recorded with a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC. With that said, just 50 percent of Cannatonic seeds will develop into CBD-rich plants. Understandably, this can cause confusion for medical cannabis patients. The strain’s cannabinoid profile tends to vary greatly – I’ve seen test results of Cannatonic with CBD:THC ratios ranging everywhere from 20:1 to 1:20. With this in mind, a phenotype of the Cannatonic strain with a 22:1 CBD:THC ratio has adopted the nickname “AC/DC.” It has been made available in the form of clones and is currently making it’s way throughout California. In fact, a number of northern California’s premier dispensary locations have reported an availability of AC/DC clones, including Harborside Health Center (Oakland) and Synergy Wellness (Santa Rosa).
How Will The AC/DC Cannabis Strain Affect Me ? Being a CBD-rich strain, the AC/DC phenotype of the Cannatonic strain is often sought out for its ability to deliver relief without psychoactive side effects. Because of this, it is unlikely to garner much interest from the adult-use market. Nonetheless, a number of medical marijuana patients seek out clones of the AC/DC strain to add to their garden. It’s high concentration of cannabidiol (CBD) makes the AC/DC strain ideal for anxiety and pain. Furthermore, cannabis oil from the AC/DC phenotype and juicing its leaves have each shown promise in preventing the spread of cancer according to anecdotal reports. Consider this strain if suffering from epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, or the negative effects of chemotherapy.
