Writing a Thesis Statement
Pick a research subject and ask a specific question about it, then come up with an answer that serves as a draft thesis.
For example, if your topic is "The rise of Hinduism in India," a logical research question for that topic would be: "What led to the rise of Hinduism in India?"
Your thesis statement should offer an answer to that question, briefly outlining about three reasons.
Each of these reasons will become the focus for the following paragraphs in your paper and will allow you to develop your outline.
