Accessing Databases

Getting information about authors and their works

There are a lot of great resources available through the subscription databases at the Beverly Public Library. They are NOT available when you search on Google.

You can access these from home, from here, or at the library, with a library card number. A couple of the best for this project are the Biography Resource Center and the Literary Reference Center.

To go to the Biography Resource Center:

  • Go to the Beverly Public Library website.
  • Click Ask a Librarian
  • On the right side, click A-Z List of Databases
  • Scroll down to the Biography Resource Center and click Login from Home
  • In the box where you enter a library card number, put in your own card number, or the Briscoe number – 21400000866357
  • Click Go
  • Click on Biography Resource Center
  • Scroll down to find the links to the Biography Resource Center or the Literary Reference Center.
