Photo Credit and Citing
First, Go to this article about shark scales and look at the photo on this page.
- Who is the photographer?
- What is the name of the website?
- What is the address (URL) of the website?
- How do you find the address of the PHOTO? (Hint: try right-clicking on it)
Open up a Microsoft Word document (go to Start menu, choose Programs and then Microsoft Word)
- paste the web address (URL) of the photo onto the page
- hit the Enter button
Now go to Google Images
- A quick way to is to type into the address bar (not the search bar!): images.google.com
When you go there you should be sure you have set your search settings to Strict Safe Search
- Click on Search Settings in the upper right corner.
- Now scroll down slightly to find the Safe Search Filtering section.
- Click on Use Strict Filtering
- Scroll up and click on the Save Preferences button.
- Now you can search (a little more) safely.
Search on the word Vikings
- Click on the first picture.
- Click on full-size image to go to a page that only show the picture.
- Right-click in the address bar and paste it into your Word document.
- To find out what website it came from, click the back button and then follow the link for the website for this image.
