Drug Project

The following information should be included about the drug you choose to research:

  1. Drug name

  2. Street or slang names for the drug

  3. What is it, what does it look like, and how is it made?

  4. Drug category  (Stimulant, depressant, etc…)

  5. Is the drug legal?  If so, for who?

  6. How is the drug used? (Smoked, ingested, inhaled, etc…)

  7. What are the short-term and long-term health effects of using the drug?

  8. What are the mental/emotional effects on the user?

  9. What are the social effects on the user?  On society as a whole?

  10. Is this drug addictive?  How?  Physical, psychological, or both?

  11. Can you build up a tolerance to this drug?  Is there a withdrawal?

  12. Statistics, charts, or graphs about the drug

  13. Pictures of the drug or related material

  14. Resources for recovery?  Ex) Alcoholics Anonymous

  15. Any other relevant information to enhance your project.  Ex) Real life stories, current events

Grading:

  • 70% - visual aid (based on appearance and information)

  • 30% - presentation
