Restoration after Great Shaking (7)
Know The Greatness & The Goodness Of God (Part 3):
“Yahweh Is Our Good Shepherd”
A. Introduction
When every nation is being shaken by God, all men will live in great fear and confusion.
All the people and things they trusted in will not save them on that day.
There is no hope for any man who trusts in idols and wealth to save and deliver him.
For God’s children, God wants each of us to know that He is our Good Shepherd.
He will care for us, save us, deliver us and provide for us.
The Almighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth, will be our personal shepherd, looking after each of us as a precious lamb.
Our duty is to draw close to our Great Shepherd and never wander away from Him.
Our duty is to listen to His voice and obey His Spirit.
There is no divine provision and protection if we turn away from the Father’s plans and do our own things.
Isaiah 40:10-11
10 See, the Lord Yahweh [Sovereign LORD] comes with power,
and His arm rules for Him.
See, His reward is with Him,
and His recompense accompanies Him.
11 He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young.
1. Yahweh is our Good Shepherd
Our Abba Father is our Good Shepherd and He will watch over every child of God at all times, even during times of great shaking.
We must therefore not fear.
Instead, we must believe in His word and trust in Him, and rejoice in His goodness.
As we trust in Him and rejoice in faith, His provision will come supernaturally.
John 10:11, 14-15
[Yeshua said]: “11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”
Isaiah 40:11
11 He tends His flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in His arms
and carries them close to His heart;
He gently leads those that have young.
As our Good Shepherd, God will care for each of us, for we are His sheep.
He will gather us in His arms in times of danger and troubles.
He carries us close to His heart, showing personal care for each of our own needs.
And He is gentle with those who have little children, those who have greater needs than others.
2. Because Yahweh is our Good Shepherd, we shall never suffer lack of anything
Our Abba Father will provide for us all that we need, for our spirit, soul and body, even during times of great shaking.
Psalm 23:1-2
1 Yahweh [The LORD] is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want [I have everything I need].
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters.
When others die of hunger and fear, God will sustain us with physical and spiritual food.
He will lead us to green pastures (revelation for our spirit, and food for our bodies).
He will lead us beside quiet waters (refreshing our souls by His Spirit).
Philippians 4:19 (New King James Version)
19 And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
God will supply all our needs at all times.
As we declare this revelation in faith, the miracles will manifest, and we will see supernatural provision at all times.
2. Yahweh will guide us in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake
In times of great shaking, “great thinkers” and “great governments” will give you all kinds of advice.
Do not trust them, unless they speak God’s truths.
And many around you will try to deceive you because of your desperation for answers.
However, our Good Shepherd will lead us gently to where we should go, what we should do, and speak what we should say.
He will always lead us to do what is right in His eyes, so that we will bring glory to His name.
Psalm 23:1, 3
1 Yahweh [The LORD] is my shepherd,
I shall not be in want [I have everything I need].
3 He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Romans 8:13-14
13 For if you live according to the sinful nature [the flesh], you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Let us as God’s children always listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd so that we may do what is right and live.
He will speak to us by His Spirit.
We can hear the voice of our Good Shepherd.
Let us obey His Spirit, build His kingdom on earth, and bring glory to His name.
John 10:2-3, 16
[Yeshua said]: 2 The man who enters by the gate is the shepherd of his sheep.
3 The watchman opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice.
16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
3. Our Good Shepherd will protect us even in the midst of great danger and troubles
As children of God, we need never fear during times of great shaking.
Our Good Shepherd has promised to watch over each of us and protect us from all danger and harm.
Psalm 23:4
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff,
they comfort me.
The power of God (His rod), and the love of God (His staff) will protect us.
However, we can find comfort in the midst of great storms only as we walk close to the Good Shepherd’s heart.
Our God is not like many leaders today who promises us good things but are unable to carry them out.
Such leaders care only for themselves and will abandon their responsibility to the people when the real trials and testings come.
John 10:11-15
[Yeshua said]: “11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. 12 The hired hand is not the shepherd who owns the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep.
4. God will provide for us even when our enemies surround us to attack us
God has promised us great victory over our enemies, men who hate the Lord Yeshua and seek to oppress God’s people and the truth of God’s word.
God will provide us with an abundance of spiritual blessings and riches, filling us with His glory and love and power and presence, even in the presence of our enemies.
Psalm 23:5
5 You prepare a table [banqueting table, Chinese version] before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Isaiah 60:1-3, 14
1 "Arise, shine, for your light has come,
and the glory of Yahweh [the LORD] rises upon you.
2 See, darkness covers the earth
and thick darkness is over the peoples,
but Yahweh [the LORD] rises upon you
and His glory appears over you.
3 Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
14 The sons of your oppressors will come bowing before you;
all who despise you will bow down at your feet
and will call you the City of Yahweh [the LORD],
Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
God will anoint us with His Spirit and fill us with His glory, so that we are able to do great works in His name.
He will bless us to be a blessing to many around us.
Our cup will overflow with abundance when darkness comes over the peoples and nations.
Nations and kings will come to the glory that is within us.
Our enemies will bow at our feet, because the glory of God is in us.
5. God’s goodness will follow us all the days of our life, even in times of great shaking
God will never stop doing good to all His children under the New Covenant, because the blood of Yeshua has been shed to purchase for you and me all the goodness of God.
Our Abba Father is waiting and rejoicing to do good to each one of us.
His goodness will follow us and overtake us wherever we go, whenever we face trials, whatever situation we are in.
Psalm 23:6
6 Surely goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of Yahweh [the LORD] forever.
Jeremiah 32:40-41
40 I will make an everlasting covenant with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me. 41 I will rejoice in doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul.
In His goodness, God will also inspire us to fear Him, so that we will never turn away from Him.
Our Good Shepherd’s greatest desire is that all His children to walk close to Him, so that we will not be overtaken by unnecessary suffering and be destroyed by the enemy.
This will bring shame and disgrace to His name.
The ultimate purpose of God’s goodness is that we will know His great love for each of us personally and love Him in return, fellowship with Him, and obey His Spirit at all times, bringing glory to His name.
He has created each of us for an intimate relationship with Him, for only God can satisfy our spirit, soul and body.
Great wealth can never satisfy, the pleasures of the world and of the flesh can never satisfy; nothing in this world can satisfy us, except God alone.
