Johann's occupation was a high officer (perhaps a Major) in the Army. Johanna and Juliana were married in 1908 in Sarajevo. Juliana said she also lived in Zagreb [Croatia]. It was on June 28, 1914 that Franz Ferdinand Karl Ludwig Joseph Maria von Habsburg-Lothringen and his wife Sophie Maria Josephine Albina Chotek were assassinated in Sarajevo. Perhaps Johann, being a high-ranking soldier in the military, was in Sarajevo at this time. It was after this assassination when the war with Austria and Serbia began, resulting in World War I. When the Mohelnitzky's moved to Pollanten (Germany) is unknown. Johann received a good retirement pay.

Johann spoke high German; his wife spoke Serbo-Kroatisch. Juliana cooked oriental and Czech/Yugoslavian foods. Before moving to Haiming, Kreis Altötting, Bavaria in 1946, Johanna and Juliana lived in a Lager (a camp). The name of the camp is not known. In Haiming, they lived at house number 16-1/5 (later known as #17) on Burghauserstrasse. About 1955, Juliana moved to house 7-1/3 (later known as #10) on Burghauerstrasse.

Johann and Juliana were buried in St. Stephanus Catholic cemetery in Haiming. As of 2009, the tombstone for Johann and Juliana Mohelnitzky no longer existed. After Juliana died, the German government was looking several years for relatives to settle the estate, but no relatives were found.
