These nobility records may possibly be found and ordered from Österreichisches Staatsarchiv, Nottendorfer Gasse 2, A-1030 Wien

Martin Mohelnicky, nobleman from Pribram in 1731.

Martin Mohelnicky is the only Mohelnicky mentioned in the registries for town Pribram between the years 1731 and 1735. The record of the baptization of his daughter Marketa Ludmila Mohelnicka was found in the registry for year 1731. He is mentioned there as "noble man Martin Mohelniczsky, municipal elder."

Noble man shows his social status – he was supposed to belong to the nobility to have such a title in the registry book. Municipal elder means that he belonged to the members of Pribram's municipal council. Other children of Martin were not yet found – it is expected that they will be present in the older registry book, which is also available.

Possible Nobleman in the family

Antonin Mohelnicky Sr. (married in 1812 to Josefa Slabova) is mentioned as the son of Josef Mohelnicky – Prague or Pribram burger and soap-maker. Also the name of his mother is mentioned twice, once as Marie Egerkova, once as Marie without surname, but there is a note in the record, that her father was supposed to be imperial-royal major and noble man. The surname Egerkova is most probably incorrect, as his mother's surname is supposed to be Scharmova – we have to take into the account that the mother's surname was not important for people in 19th century because they were mostly identified only by father and his name.
