Overview:
Students will be able to name numbers independently and count forward from any given number within a sequence. Students will be able to correctly count a given number of objects. Students can compare two numbers to determine which number is greater than, less than, or equal to. They will solve and explain word problems using addition and subtraction. Students can use and demonstrate the place value system. Students will be able to explain the length of objects and compare the difference between the two. They will sort and classify objects (ex. by size, color, and shape). Students will identify 2D shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, and hexagon) and 3D shapes (cone, sphere, cylinder, and cube) and will name shapes by their attributes (ex. Karen has an object that has four sides and four vertices/corners. All the sides are the same length. What shape is it? Square.)
