Vocabulary:
Hundred chart - a chart that shows all of the numbers from 1 to 100
Tens digit - The part of a number that tells how many tens
Row - a straight line of numbers or objects going from left to right
Ones digit - the part of a number that tells how many ones
Column - a straight line of numbers or objects going from top to bottom
At-home Practice:
Supplies:
deck of cards (remove all face cards and 10s)
Divide the cards evenly between the players. Player 1 turns over two cards and places them together to make a two-digit number. (ex. Use a 7 and a 3 to make 73 or 37) Player 2 then has to count up ten correctly. (ex. If the number is 37, player 2 counts, “38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47”) If Player 2 counts correctly, he/she gets both cards. If not, Player 1 gets the cards. Keep playing until all cards are used. The player with the most cards wins.
