Animation
My story, follows the life of a young girl how is struggling to cope with the loss of her family. but with the love and support from her dog, she begins to realise that her family hasn't left her and will forever be with her.
What my inspirations were for this project, was Disney Pixar short. Everyone that watches a Disney Pixar short always has a emotional connection to that story, however that may be. For my major project I wanted that same feeling, I wanted to create a meaningful and emotional story that we could all connect to one why or another. I wanted my viewers to have a story that reminds them that its okay to struggle throughout the ups and down of life, that happiness can come from the most unexpected things in life, we just need to find it.
Before I could start creating my short, I first needed to know what story I was going to tell. After weeks of planning and writing and scrapping many ideas, I was finally able to create a story that had a lot of depth and meaning to it.
I went through quite a long process when it came to designing my characters, I wanted to try a new art style called vector art. I wanted my dog to look as fluffy as possible but still remain readable to the views, I wanted my character to stand out from my backgrounds but found that the colours that I had chosen would clash with each other. But after many attempts of many design I was finally able to create a compelling character for my story.
To allow my characters to move and come to life, they first have to be rigged. Bones and controls are added to allow movement to be made to the characters I've created.
I used adobe after effects to complete and bring my story to life. By using cameras and lighting effects I was able to create the right mood and atmosphere I want for this story. I used many different techniques to create different effects, like fore example I used liquid motion to create the look of the paint coming off the canvas and swirling around the room.
