This project is a rebrand of the well-known Australian tea brand, Nerada. With this, I aimed to create a warm and welcoming product for consumers who enjoy organic tea. I was heavily inspired by abstract patterns and the colour palette of the cottagecore aesthetic in order to create a fun packaging concept that can be enjoyed by all ages.
The beginning of the project was focused on researching the brand and the chosen market. This included analysing the strengths and weaknesses of the brand, the competitors, and the target market for the rebrand.
After gaining knowledge of the market and target audience, the next step was to form ideas for the packaging. I took inspiration from the cottagecore aesthetic and a more abstract aesthetic separately, before deciding to merge the two together to make an interesting design with natural colours and organic shapes. This was to combine the environmentally friendly approach of the brand with a vibrant visual appearance in order to appeal to the new target market without alienating their existing consumers.
In order to match the new look of the brand, the logo needed to be updated. The original Nerada logo is on the left. I decided to keep the logo simple and clean, with a neat typeface and a small leaf icon to allude to the organic aspects of the brand.

This is where the initial ideas start to produce something more concrete. Using abstract scribbles and patterns, and combined with a minimal and muted colour scheme, the first idea of the packaging was complete. From this, the idea can be further refined.
Since the product is in a box packaging, each side needed to be designed. I continued the pattern around the box and incorporated the necessary information on the packaging. The packaging for a second flavour was also developed.
After the product packaging had been created, the rest of the campaign needed to be designed. This involved coming up with marketing plans, taglines, posters, merchandise and a TVC. In order to get a feel for how the campaign would look, I started with designing the posters, and carried the feel of them onto the rest of the campaign.
