The Trebuchet Destruction scene is a short animation showcasing my skills as a VFX Artist, the scene was created Using AutoDesk Maya, Houdini and Unreal Engine 4. The scene also acts as a vertical slice for my upcoming major project "The Aftermath".
Two armies are clashing, one defending their castle the other is besieging it, as the attack continues through the night the castle has mostly been reduced to ruins as a result of the destructive power of the trebuchets fiery projectiles, by morning the attacking faction will have victory.
Our major project is a 3D animated cinematic depicting a story of a medieval/fantasy style siege taking place in a fantasy world, genre centered around fantasy/dark fantasy and will contain action and emotional story-telling, through environment and character story-telling queues. Main Themes will be an anti-war message showing the consequences of war and is it all worth it, self reflection of ones actions and war being nothing but evil vs its a necessary evil. These themes throughout the story will be a metaphor to link to our currents times.
My role in the major project will be the FX artist as a result I will be tackling all the flashy and atmospheric visuals of the scene such as, smoke, fog, fire, particles, blood splatters, explosions and building destruction etc.
