Hey my name is Jaxon!
I'm a part of the studio 3 re branding class this trimester.
I have worked in the alcohol industry for the last 4 years first starting in a bar and now in a bottle shop, I have always been interested in different and new styles and designs and getting to create my own to see how it would sit compared to what I sell appeals to me.
The GOAT summer ale re brand for me is a good stepping stone for me to further the career path I wish to go down in the future.
It was a great learning curve and something I will be pursuing outside of uni.
This project was inspired by friends and summer, it is made to make you 'get funky with friends', This is done through the use of characters which were inspired from Keith Harring (https://www.instagram.com/keithharingfoundation/ ) his character design work is what made me want to move away from a detailed character to a group of characters dancing and having fun.
For this project I aimed to not only give the beer a refreshing look but to also create the urge to ‘crack open a cold one’ with your mates!
These are the final logos I have chosen to present to the class for feedback, I am personally leaning towards the second on the left as are other people I have asked for feedback, They said it was the one that caught their eye first then they looked at them all together.
I started off with the words and different ways they could be used and then went onto the goat head itself, the top left goat head is there design and ive just slightly changed it on the way down until i found the one I liked which ill put bellow in another photo.
I then went on to do designs in a circle which I liked but the feedback I got on them was that I needed to make "GOAT" the most prominent thing because it was fighting with the "greatest beer of all time and since 1997, they were all the same size so anyone of them could've been the name of the company.
I had also tried different styles of goats (on the far left) which I feel didn't really work like id hoped they would so I left them alone.
Apart of the feed back was to try something more exciting other than a do to break the words around the circles so i tried 2 different styles of hops which i think worked quite well.
These are the refined logos that I liked after implementing feedback from last week. Andy also gave me the idea of using a hop as the goats head which actually turned out pretty cool I think.
I also decided to get rid of the black outer circle and to just make the circle out of the type which I think could work really well. I think i just have to decide what colours the other logos would be on the can.
The type circles would stay black and white I think, but the circles with the black outer circle would maybe be coloured depending on the can colour itself.
I decided to have a look into not using a circle at all and came up with these logos, The goat at the bottom with the head as the o was Shawn's idea from the feedback last week which I quite like. I also made a goats head combined with a trophy for the Greatest of all time theme i'm going for.
Overall I'm not as excited about these as I am with the circle ones, so I left them at this.
The last week I've been stuck on the same ideas and not really been enjoying them so in todays class i decided for the first couple hours I was just going to have fun and make something that I enjoyed.
After feedback i agree that these probably wont go on the can but could be used for posters later on. So they wont go to waste but even if they did i definitely did need to take a step back and have some fun with it,its made me feel refreshed.

This is the title and poster that I have currently made for my groups major project planning class that starts next trimester.
It is a game project that follows a unique story of Dukaern Lunaspear. Highly suggest you check out the the project over at the games section tonight.
I drew the poster in procreate and made the border and title in Photoshop.
"Hi everyone! Thanks for checking out my work, please feel free to contact me if you have any question about my designs"
