They are the nerve centres of our economy, education, transport infrastructure, politics, and culture. What happens in cities will influence the rest of the nation and region. Today, over 50% of our population lives in cities and with it, there are many urban problems. In this issue of the Magazine, I will focus on the problem of urban loneliness and present ways and ideas of how change is possible through each one of us.
As I have explored the masthead I've started with the word "Cities" to draw attention. Initially, my magazine was about Cities, but I realised that the focus is not on buildings or the architecture of cities or the skyline. Instead, the focus was meant to be on the people in cities, which made me change the hierarchy of my words, making "Heart" bigger and at the centre. This revelation shaped the output of my magazine, as well as the content.
Through the Cover Design Process, I wanted to reveal the Heart of Cities, not just looking at the buildings or the problems, but going deeper and revealing solutions to the problem of urban loneliness and how there is beauty in community.

Reflecting the concept of revealing the Heart of Cities beyond just buildings.
I've created a poster for the documentary "Planted", directed by Andrew Nottage a film student. The Documentary was about the journey of two people only eating a plant-based diet. This project allowed me to expand my skill set with the use of strong, bold colours, representing the vibrancy of vegetables.
I currently have created 12 city maps, which I have started to sell as part of a current fundraising strategy to support my study fees.
The Zebra was just a fun project to do on the side, but I have been able to print it and frame it.
These 2 Icons are part of a project for a non-profit organisation and will be printed into magnets that will indicate international project locations on a world map.
