Here you will find students studio projects ranging from their 3rd trimester to their 5th trimester.
Studio units are run across 9 hours each week, where SAE facilitates a creative production studio, where students can experience team work, cross colaborate with different disciplines, and gather user testing and feedback fro their peers.
FOCUS: Magazine layout design
In studio one, students create a 40 page magazine based on a subject matter of their choice. They must design a cohesive brand identity through the creation of a style guide and magazine masthead.

Imagery and articles are sourced online as a means to allow students to focus on layout and design.
Students use Adobe InDesign as the main program for layout out large page quantities and creating interactive magazines. Addtional programs include Adobe Photoshop.
Visual campaign design in collaboration with Yagan Square
In studio two, students must create a visual campaign, focusing on image making techniques.
This trimester, students were given the brief to design for a national park of Western Australia. Students explored a range of image making techniques, from analogue mark making to digital mediums.
Working alongside Yagan Square as a real world client, students must create a short motion graphic piece to screen on the Yagan tower, as well as additional collateral to extend their campaign into the physical space.
Branding and promotional design
In studio three, students have to re-brand an existing product of their choice. They must research the brand, identify the target audience, message, and trends, identify weaknesses and develop new design solutions to improving the product visibility.
Students explore advertising and promotional strategies, and implement an array of image making techniques and copy writing in order to design a cohesive and updated identity for their product.
