Suits of Banksia is a design project aiming to raise awareness of the endangered Banksia Woodlands within the Swan Coastal Plain. Stretching from Jurien Bay to Dunsborough, this ecological community of unique plants and animals are only found together here in our state of Western Australia, however, many species found in this area have suffered a loss of 60% overall. As a result, the woodlands are fragmented in small patches, due to destruction of habitats, via protective fire regimes and land clearing, as well as invasive species and climate change
Natasha will be bringing together story and imagery to create a series of playing card designs, using the flora and fauna of Perth's unique Banksia Woodlands to redesign adored characters from the cherished world created by Lewis Caroll. Alice in Wonderland proves to be a timeless story about identity and growing up and her illustrations will act as stories within themselves, to invite one to revisit their childhood while enjoying and celebrating what makes Western Australia unique

My Ableton Live session for the audio production for this project
Score produced for the project
From Natasha's initial pitch, I had gotten Alice in Wonderland vibes from her moodboard and rough sketches. And for me, Alice in Wonderland meant the Mad Hatter. And Mad Hatter meant his infamous pocketwatch. So the very first audio that I had sourced off the internet and imported onto my Ableton session was the ticking of a clock/watch
