Set in modern times, this Lo-Fi music video features a young inspired male artist named Hugo, going throughout his day working on a 2D project. Hugo loves the classics, you can see this throughout his apartment, owning Sony a Walkman, various old games, music, comics, and more. The style we're aiming to achieve for this project is influenced by Japanese anime and games like 'Life is Strange', we want a stylized look but with realistic portions and detail. Lastly, each young artist needs a best friend and this artist has a pet 2 tailed wolf named Narla.

Description-
Hugo is an early 20s student, living in a nice yet modest apartment in the city, who loves all things nerdy, reading, games and art. Ever since he was little, he was fascinated with the 70's and 80's as a young boy, and has kept those passions close to his heart.
He has lived in the city all his life, been born in a nice little house atop a hill, overlooking the park, he decided to start working in a small corner shop café to earn money, until he could eventually leave the city, and move to Europe to go to University. After his parents surprised him with a helpful money gift, he left home and embarked on his new life. Having lived here now for two years, he is half way through his university degree, is working part time at a local café, to keep with his routine, and part time as an artist on commission. He got (Sven, Narla or Ghost) (the wolf) after a ski trip in the mountains, two holidays hast, finding him in a Forrest clearing, beside his shot mother, and deciding to take him home, and care for him. We now see Hugo on a lovely Saturday evening, working on a client animation project, and just enjoying the cloudy weather, a nice warm cup of coffee, and his little day to day life.
I based some of the personality on the James Halliday character in Ready Player One, but I also took inspiration from my mums personality, and also much of my own. Having that special love for things like vinyl records, a Gameboy, and the early days of the DS, are things that were very prominent in my childhood, and are things that I've translated across to Hugo's design.
For the style of the character, I wanted to keep with the LoFi aesthetic, and as I had designed and worked on developing the character in the early weeks, before we changed the style and overall theme of the scene, I just updated a few details and knew how to approach the sculpting.
The ways that we are appealing and targeting the nostalgic effect to our broader audiences, are by including assets such as the Sony Walkman, Gameboy, DS, Old toys from the 80s, posters and stickers to reference various pop culture icons, and things like comics, CD's and game cartridges to fill the scene, and embed this theme into the scene.
