Negative space drawing

The setting of this piece is polka dots. I used the negative space to fill in this piece, with circles and watercolors. I chose to fill the background with circles because i though that different colored polka dots would highlight the outline of the leaves.

I used line to show the edges of the leaves and to leave negative space. The lines are very crisp and not wispy. I had to redo my project basically. I cut out the outline of the leaves and traced them onto a new paper because I messed up on the first one.

This piece resembles the way things in my life are separated. The leaves are my weekend life, and the circles are my very complicated school week. They are very different and completely separated.
