Each of these prints are of a picture of dutch braids. I used linoleum, carving tools, and printing ink to create these. I chose to do this specific artwork/picture because I had really high hopes that it would look interesting or cool.
In this project I used informal balance, as none of the prints are not symmetrical. I also used leading lines to show the negative space and highlights of this picture. I had to do over 20 prints in order to find at least 4 perfect or decent ones, and I also had to go back multiple times to carve away excess linoleum.
The picture in this artwork is the back of my head after my friend had braided my hair, I thought that she had done a really nice job so I wanted a picture. This relates to my life because it is the back of my head, and it is my hair. I think that if anything in the piece(s) could be any stronger , it would be the cleanness of the lines. After doing more than 15 prints, I got very tired of doing them and became a little regretful/lazy, so if I could go back and make the lines cleaner, I would.
