The subject of this piece is my friends bird. I used charcoal, ink, graphite, and lots of time to create this. I choose to draw this because it was a really cool picture to me, and I used blending and value to show the feathers.

I used ink to show the feathers, and charcoal to shade the shadows. My project went from a piece of paper with simple ink to a paper with charcoal all over it.

There is no meaning behind this art, it is just my friends bird. It relates to my life because like me, it is a living organism. If I could change anything about this piece it would be that I would just leave it like it was with ink and graphite, and not use charcoal.
