FINAL WITTEN RFLECTION

Over the course of this class I've learned so much. I've learned that there is so much more to photography than just taking a picture. You have to find a good setting, lighting, and look for all of the composition techniques. Just looking at my pictures from the first to the second semester I see great improvement. I used to think I was pretty good at taking pictures and thought I had a pretty good eye for it, but looking back, I took almost all of my photos from a boring straight on angle. Now the first thing I look for when setting up t capture and image are the composition techniques and how I can make the picture look the best I can.

After taking this course I've come to learn I have some real difficulties with film photography. Especially when using a film camera. Partly because the one I used for semester one didn't work =, but that;s besides the point. Most of my learning has come from the printing and developing process. I've learned a lot about how to manipulate a print to make it darker or lighter and how to make it look creative by only using developer in certain places. It's been a rocky road, but with practice came improvement.

I'm most proud of my improvement overall especially with film photography. As you read before. I had a lot of problems with film before, but now some of them are my favorite images. It's a lot more rewarding when you get a good print than just a digital picture. I've learned a lot in film, but in the simplest way put, I'm most proud pf my overall improvement and being able to use any techniques I've learned as extra even when I didn't have to.

Just looking at my progress from last semester to this one you can see how much I've learned. Like I've said before, I can now use any techniques I've learned whenever. I use them now because I think it'll improve my image not just because it's part of the assignment. The same goes for film. I know how to use filters, burn and dodge, and how to develop images which is actually a lot of fun once you get past the frustration of figuring out how to do it. I've learned a lot this year and I think that can be seen by just looking at my images.
