WRITTEN REFLECTION

I consider these to be my best pictures from this semester. I think the biggest example that I've improved is that I have film prints in here. If we were required to have a quality page after last semester, I can guarantee there would not have been any prints from our film unit and now I consider some my best over my digital photos.

The most challenging was still the film prints, but much less than before. You can probably tell by now that film photography has given me some trouble in the past. My first semester was rough with taken pictures with the film camera, developing the film, and the printing process which is why I'm so impressed when they come out well now.

So yes, I'm most proud of how well I've done with film. Especially the last picture on this page because I loved how the image looked in digital black & white I was determined to get a great print. I tried a lot of different things to make this image look how I wanted and I ended up burning and dodging because the shirt and pants showed up so dark. I'm proud of using my knowledge from past prints to help make this one as good as it looks.

I think what I said in the last paragraph and by looking at that last image you can see my strengths as a learner. Over the course of the past and previous semesters I've learned many different ways to effects a darkroom print to make it darker, lighter, and target specific sports that need to be darker or lighter. Now I can use these methods in any prints I make to change them how I need. Being able to learn that and remember to use it shows really shows my strengths as a learner.
